FAQ
Questions about texts to read aloud
Where do the texts in “Find me text” come from?
From Project Gutenberg and Wikimedia sites such as Wikipedia, Wikisource, Wikivoyage and Wikibooks. Each imported text keeps a link back to its source.
Is text generation done in the cloud?
No. Passages are written on your device — with Apple Intelligence on supported Apple devices, or with an on-device model you download once on Windows. On devices that can’t run it, the option is simply not offered.
Can I filter found texts by level?
Not for found texts: the sources aren’t tagged by reading level, so the app doesn’t pretend to filter them. Generated passages, on the other hand, are written at the level you pick.
Does searching send anything about me?
Only the words you type into the search, sent to the source you searched. Your recordings stay on your device, and your texts stay private unless you choose to sync them.
