Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 10, 2026

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Sergey Novikov collects, uses, and protects personal data when you use PronounceFit.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, information generated from your use of the service, and information from third parties where permitted by law.

Examples of data we collect include:

  • Account details such as your name, email address, and billing information.
  • Usage data such as device identifiers, browser type, and pages viewed.
  • Communications with support or feedback you submit.
  • Your account email address and the identity you use to sign in.
  • Voice recordings you make while practicing, and the pronunciation results derived from them.
  • Subscription and license status. Purchases made in the iPhone or iPad app are processed by Apple; purchases made on supported desktop and web surfaces are processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your full card details.
  • Diagnostic data such as crash reports and performance measurements, and optional usage analytics used to keep the app working and improve it.
  • Practice activity and learner progress linked to your account, so you can continue across devices. Personal practice texts are synced only when you enable that option.

How We Use Information

We use personal data to provide and improve the service, communicate with you, ensure security, and comply with legal obligations.

Voice and Audio Data

PronounceFit analyses your pronunciation directly on your device. Your voice recordings are not uploaded to our servers as part of normal use, and the analysis runs locally — your microphone audio stays on your device.

Recordings are kept in local storage on your device. They are only sent to us if you choose to share them, such as by enabling recording sharing for pronunciation feedback or attaching a recording to a support request. Recording sharing is off by default and can be changed in Settings → Privacy. You can delete local recordings from within the app.

Practice Progress and Optional Text Sharing

When you sign in, practice activity, progress and exercise results are linked to your account and synced to support your library and progress across devices. This account functionality is separate from optional usage analytics and is not anonymous.

Syncing personal practice texts is off by default. If you enable it in Settings → Privacy, your personal texts and associated transcript content are also sent to our servers and linked to your account. You can turn this option off to stop future personal-text uploads. Account deletion removes the associated synced learner data.

Payments and Subscription

Purchases made in the PronounceFit app on iPhone or iPad are handled by Apple through the App Store. Purchases made on supported desktop and web surfaces are handled by Stripe. We store only what we need to manage your access — such as subscription status, product and transaction references, and the PronounceFit account linked to the purchase — and never your full card number or security code. Apple and Stripe process payment information under their own privacy terms.

Analytics and Diagnostics

To keep the app reliable we may collect:

  • Crash reports that tell us when and where the app failed, so we can fix it.
  • Optional usage analytics about which features are used, separate from the account-linked practice progress described above.

Deleting Your Data

You can delete your local recordings and practice history from within the app. You can also initiate deletion of your account and its associated data from the Account section in the app. The same request can be made by following our Data Deletion page or contacting [email protected].

Legal Bases

Where required by law, we process personal data based on your consent, our legitimate interests, contractual necessity, and legal obligations.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the service and understand how it is used. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.

Sharing Information

We share information with trusted service providers who help us operate the service, process payments, and provide customer support. We do not sell your personal data.

Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

Security

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including access controls, encryption where appropriate, and regular security reviews.

International Transfers

If we transfer personal data across borders, we use safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or other lawful mechanisms.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal data, and to object to certain processing.

To exercise your rights, contact us at [email protected].
